A clients grandmother recently visited the center in Longmont to get a few maternity clothes for her. Noticing her struggle as she walked up the stairs. We prayed for her and she was immediatley feeling the healing of Jesus go through her body. She returned a few weeks later still healed.... as we had talked about how to 'keep her healing' previously. She was now asking for prayer for another health issue. God has already provided everything we need. He has all the healing, health, prosperity, joy and peace. She just received it. She said she felt a warmth and we are believing for complete healing for her in every way. God  has so much for us.  He said we would be doing even greater things than He.  One such greater thing is the gift of Salvation. One volunteer at the center is used to bring many to the Lord.  Two weeks ago a young client gave her life to Christ after she was shared the Gospel and being prayed for by this volunteer, she was also encouraged to start attending a local church where she would feel welcomed and loved.  Many clients feel like they would be judged for some of the choices they have made in the past.  We share with them that we are all sinners and there is not one in church that have not made some bad choices in their lives and to press past those feelings of not measuring up or being judged. God is not in the business of judging and we follow that at Life Choices.

"May she find a place she feels welcomed where she can now grow in her relationship with this awesome Jesus we know."

 Active ImageApril in Longmont:

April is a beautiful time of year here on the front range. One client is breathing easier, enjoying spring time flowers and rejoicing in 'second chances' and 'renewed virginity.' I had never heard this term before coming to Life Choices. Our God offers us second, third, fourth chances to make changes in our lives and an opportunity to renew our virginity.  Cindy, (not her real name) came to us fearful, imbarrased and feeling shame. She and her boyfriend of nearly a year had gotten carried away and now found it hard to change their pattern of sex in their realtionship. They now were experiencing the thoughts of an 'unplanned pregnancy.' Both came from 'Christian' backgrounds and attended Bible College.  The thought of abortion was not an option for them and they would either parent or choose the parents for thier child. We talked for a long time about the 'shame' she was feeling. God does not judge us on these choices and neither do we at Life Choices. The shame we feel is often self inflicted and usually a sign of a choice we wish we could change. ---The Good News...... we can!  Cindy and her boyfriend were not pregnant this time. We talked about the chances of her becoming pregnant if they continued to have sexual relations and the chance to make 'good choices' to 'make a plan' and begin again. Choosing not to have sex once you have, takes planning, courage and God's strength. We worked together to help formulate a plan and go forward in their 'renewed virginity.' They are determined to stick to a plan, finish College and wait till marriage and the time they are ready to begin their family. Until then, I pray for continued strength, courage and joy for them as they fulfill the awesome lives God has planned for them.

Adoptions in December

We had several abortion minded girls in December.  One client, in particular, came in with her boyfriend and talked with us for quite some time.  Finally, after a few hours of educating them on their options, adoption became a possibility.  The boyfriend said he would stand by his girlfriend whatever her decision may be, although she was still considering abortion.  They went home for the weekend with much to consider. Their homework was to seek God and ask what He wanted for them.  When they returned for the ultrasound the following week, they learned that the baby was further along than they had thought.  God provided some awesome pictures of ‘their baby.’ But, they had also talked a lot over the weekend, and had decided to keep the baby and to get married.  The boyfriend’s mother even accompanied them to see the ultrasound. Though the pregnancy was unplanned and the couple was young, the boyfriends mother was very encouraging and was touched to see the life that her soon to be ‘daughter-in-law’ was carrying.

During the month of December, we had another client who was hoping for a negative pregnancy test, only to discover she really was pregnant. She was very distraught and had been going through some difficult times. We counseled her for quite some time and determined out how far Sample Imagealong she was in her pregnancy. During our time together she began to cry and said she didn’t really believe in abortion, but couldn’t have another baby.  We had already talked about adoption and she didn’t think she could do that.  After staring at the pictures of development for a long while, and further discussing her options, she began to consider adoption. We gave her information on adoption and discussed how that might look for her, even how she could ‘pick’ the parents for her baby. She has now chosen ‘Life’ for her baby and is going forward with adoption. During the month of December, our Longmont Center has had four young ladies decide on adoption for their babies.
